Election Action

We call on all Parties to work to end indefinite immigration detention in the new Parliament.

We ask all our supporters to write to their prospective parliamentary candidates about the urgent need to end indefinite immigration detention.

The paragraphs on immigration detention from each Party manifesto are here.
There are also some seeking re-election in the Conservative Party who are supporters of the need to end indefinite immigration detention.

You could send a letter or email. There is an example letter here which contains the important points.

You could also ask a question at a hustings meeting.

For example:
Do you share my view that it is wrong to hold immigration detainees indefinitely without charge and that a statutory time limit to detention should be imposed?

and a supplementary question – Would you agree to meet one of the Refugee Tales organisers if you are elected as MP for X to discuss the subject of indefinite immigration detention?

We would love to hear of your success or otherwise with the candidates, email us refugeetales@gdwg.org.uk
