Where is the welcome?

When you arrive, where is the welcome?

Across land and sea,

By foot, by boat,

Under a lorry.

When you are lost, where is the welcome?

With no phone,

No passport,

No money.

When you are hungry, where is the welcome?

With no job,

No home,

No shelter.

When you are alone, where is the welcome?

Without friends,

Or family,

Or country.

Where in a locked cell

Is the welcome?
